Design-Build
$276 million
CDOT Region 1 contracted RS&H to provide Procurement and Construction Management services for this $276 million design-build project. The project widens and reconstructs the highway and adds tolled express lanes to increase mobility and user choice along 12.5 miles of C-470 from I-25 to Wadsworth Boulevard. Significant reconfiguration at the I-25/C-470 interchange with the addition of direct-connect ramps from I-25 to the C-470 tolled express lanes and installation of infrastructure for future roadside to vehicle and vehicle to vehicle communication environments is included. When complete, motorists will have the option to use the Express Lanes on C-470 for a faster, more reliable commute in exchange for paying a toll, or drive the general-purpose lanes for free.
RS&H was integrated into the blended owner representation team prior to award and was involved in all aspects of procurement including; Request for Proposal review and revisions, Alternative Technical Concept and Technical Approach reviews, Pre-Accepted Element reviews, Contractor one-on-one meetings, and Request for Clarification review. RS&H also performed evaluation and scoring of proposals and assisted with award based on the best value determination. Following award, our team focused on project delivery as the Owner Representation Lead for the 70+ member blended team through providing the Project Engineer, Assistant Contract Administrators, Design Review Lead, and other design and construction support staff and subconsultants. Services include complete contract administration, design and construction quality owner verification, and project closeout/acceptance.
