RS&H has hired Wendy Griffin in North Carolina to serve as senior tolls technology specialist for the transportation firm’s Tolls Service Group.

Griffin is the former Toll Revenue Manager for the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT). She comes to RS&H after nearly a decade managing all aspects of toll revenue operations for the state, from the roadside to the back office to the general ledger.

“Wendy’s extensive knowledge in toll finance, contract management, alternative delivery oversight as well as systems implementation brings tremendous insight to our team,” said RS&H Vice President and Tolls Service Group leader Mike Davis, PE, DBIA. “Her business and technology leadership will add value to our clients’ strategic needs.”

As an accountant working for the state of North Carolina for almost 30 years, Griffin’s experience runs the gamut, from managing payroll of 80,000 employees, to toll systems implementation, to RFP development and policy administration, and then most recently developing procedures with the concessionaire for a P3 project. She is a Certified Public Manager as well as a graduate of NCDOT’s Executive-Level Legacy Leadership Program. Upon her retirement, she was awarded the Order of the Long Leaf Pine from the office of the Governor for her success in driving business practices forward within the state.

“What attracted me most to RS&H was the people,” Griffin said. “Not only are they great to work with, but they are truly striving to get the most from our toll roads – from safety and mobility to revenue.”

In RS&H’s Raleigh office, Griffin will advise clients on tolling aspects of alternative contract delivery, toll finance, best practices associated with system delivery and business policies. Her financial skillset and tolling perspective will help RS&H provide full-service tolling solutions.

“I am excited to apply my state experience to the private sector,” Griffin said. “I know what it takes to increase efficiencies and improve customer satisfaction, because I’ve been on that side”
