RS&H Hires Richard Stump as Aerospace & Defense Vice President

RS&H has hired experienced industry leader Richard Stump, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, as vice president of client management.

As part of RS&H’s Aerospace and Defense team, Stump will help manage indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contracts, provide strategic client management and collaborate with the business development team to identify and capitalize on pursuits and growth opportunities.

For more than 25 years, Stump has provided architecture and engineering (A/E) design services to the U.S. Department of Defense, federal government agencies and commercial partners. His international project and program experience includes 39 countries across six continents, with a focus on Japan, Guam and Korea, Southwest Asia, United Kingdom and the Caribbean commonwealth nations.

“Rich has a proven track record of leading dynamic teams in support of national security at home and abroad,” said RS&H Senior Vice President Steven Moore, who leads the Aerospace and Defense Practice. “His experience and relationships around the world bring us a leader who understands our clients’ missions and is dedicated to meeting the challenges unique to each project.”

Stump has facilitated more than 30 defense project charrettes in the past six years. These projects have included large-scale infrastructure, single facilities and campus-wide projects, aviation, training ranges, energy and power plants, specialized engineering systems and secure facilities at locations in the United States and overseas.

“I am passionate about working with teams that provide superior project or program experience; RS&H has an exceptional track record of delivering innovative, high-quality A/E solutions for mission success,” said Stump. “I’m looking forward to contributing to an already high-performing team in support of national security, defense and aerospace clients.”

Stump is a fellow of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) and former regional vice president of the SAME Pacific Region. His global experience includes work with the International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC), where he founded FIDIC’s Young Professional Forum and serves on its Integrity Management Committee.

A former United States Air Force civil engineering officer, Stump is the past chairperson of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) International Committee. He holds a Master of Architecture from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies from the University of Illinois.
