RS&H has earned an award from the Utah Chapter of the American Concrete Pavement Association (ACPA) for its Delta ramp reconstruction project at Salt Lake City International Airport.
The 30,000-square-yard project that connects Delta Air Lines’ massive maintenance hangar to the airfield received the award in the Commercial Service Airport category.
“It’s a nice honor to be recognized, especially after a big effort from design through construction,” RS&H Salt Lake City Office Leader Greg Riley said.
The reconstruction of the concrete ramp took two construction seasons, as the Delta hangar had to remain operable and accessible. Even after a string of weather delays and mitigating unsuitable subgrade soils, the construction contractor finished the project ahead of schedule.
This is RS&H’s second ACPA win in Utah, and it’s the second ACPA chapter win in the last few months. In November, RS&H won an Excellence in Concrete Pavement Award by the Colorado-Wyoming ACPA chapter for a terminal apron rehabilitation project at Colorado Springs Airport.
