Matthew Kunath Joins RS&H as Principal Architect to Expand Capabilities For Healthcare Clients

[Jacksonville, Fla.] – RS&H announced that Matthew Kunath, AIA NCARB, has joined the employee-owned, national architecture, engineering, and consulting firm as a principal architect in Jacksonville, Florida. Kunath will provide client support focusing on healthcare from project inception to construction. He will also mentor and train RS&H’s design and architectural staff. Matthew Kunath headshot.

Kunath brings substantial experience in healthcare and large-scale projects with him to RS&H. He has successfully managed projects ranging from large-scale bed towers over $60 million in value to small equipment changeouts. Some of the most significant healthcare projects that he has managed include Baptist Medical Center South, UF Health Flagler Hospital In St. Augustine, and Hope Lodge & Dialysis Center at Mayo Clinic Florida. 

“Matthew is a jack of all trades with a wealth of knowledge and experience. He’s versatile and really fits in anywhere – any project size, any project type,” said Scott Crawford, AIA, LEED AP, RS&H Senior Vice President & Health & Science Market Leader. “We’re excited to have him on board to provide additional depth and breadth to our team, bolster our capabilities with current clients, and support our overall healthcare goals as a company.” 

Kunath earned his Master of Architecture from the University of Michigan. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects and the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards and has over 15 years of experience working with the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration. In addition to working as an architect, Matthew teaches construction technology classes at St. Johns River State College and the Florida State College of Jacksonville. 

When asked how his experience has shaped him for this role, Kunath said, “I consider myself fortunate to have had the opportunity to work on a diverse range of project types and sizes, both in large and small firms. This experience has honed my adaptability and versatility, qualities I believe will be valuable at RS&H.”
