PORTLAND, Ore. – RS&H announced today that Allen Hendy, PE, has joined the national engineering, architecture and consulting firm to lead transportation infrastructure projects in Oregon and the Pacific Northwest.

A veteran of the Oregon and Washington Departments of Transportation [ODOT/WSDOT], Hendy brings over 20 years of transportation project management experience to RS&H. In his new role with the firm, he will manage and help deliver regional design and construction projects.

“Allen has proven throughout his career the ability to lead complex infrastructure projects and help others grow around him,” said RS&H National Bridge Group Leader Matt Chynoweth. “We’re excited for (Hendy) to join RS&H and bring his impressive portfolio of successful projects for Oregon DOT and Washington DOT, which will help us advance our projects and the firm’s strategic growth initiatives and client services in the Pacific Northwest.”

Hendy started his career as an engineer for WSDOT, where he led the Vancouver Area Office and delivered multiple projects from design through construction. Since 2020, he has managed a large consultant team for ODOT to deliver the PS&E for the largest funded project at ODOT in the last four decades with the $500M+ Interstate 205 Improvement Project Abernethy Bridge. For the past 18 months, Hendy has provided oversight and managed the construction of the Abernethy Bridge.

“I am excited to help grow RS&H’s footprint in the Northwest and work with some truly great people I’ve gotten to know and admire over the course of my career,” Hendy said. “We have such a strong project portfolio, and I look forward to working on similar projects that help connect our region.”

Hendy holds a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the Oregon Institute of Technology.
