Tampa International Airport

RS&H has a long history with the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority (HCAA), having provided comprehensive conceptual planning, A/E services, and construction administration for TPA’s original terminal. This unique airport design changed the image of Tampa as a community and is still regarded today as one of the best terminal designs in the world. RS&H began serving HCAA as an On-Call Consultant in 2003 and earned renewal of this contract in 2008, 2010, and 2016. RS&H’s latest reselection in 2020 is to provide on-call services through 2025. RS&H has been involved in more than 225 projects at TPA as well as the three HCAA-owned general aviation airports. These projects range from planning and environmental assignments to civil and architectural design projects. Environmental projects included as part of the ongoing on-call services contact(s) are as follows: 

• Stormwater and Environmental Impacts Master Plan. RS&H developed and permitted (with the County, Southwest Florida Water Management District, and Army Corps of Engineers) the stormwater master plan for TPA providing a roadmap for the treatment and attenuation of stormwater as well as a detailed mitigation strategy for wetland impacts.) 
• Terminal Rehabilitation. RS&H provided design and CA services for the removal of failing lead-based paint from the exterior of the POK terminal building prior to replacement. 
• CONRAC NEPA Documentation. RS&H developed and coordinated approval of the Focused EA for  
• TPA’s proposed $350M consolidated rental car facility and associated enabling work. 
• Noise Analysis. RS&H assisted with an analysis of noise impacts associated with their Runway 1R-19L as part of voluntary noise abatement program. 
• Rental Car Fuel Tank Removal. RS&H provided design services for the removal of six underground fuel storage tanks serving the old rental car operations. 
• Cargo Apron, Taxiway A, and MRO Site NEPA Documentation. RS&H developed and coordinated approval of two CATEXs and one Focused EA for three future airfield projects at TPA. 
• GA Obstruction Removal. RS&H provided design and CA services for the trimming of trees which had grown to be obstructions to airport operations
