The Redmond Municipal Airport (Roberts Field) is a small hub facility, owned and operated by the City of Redmond. It services Central Oregon and currently provides commercial service on Alaska, American, Avelo, Delta and United Airlines. Recent growth in and around the Central Oregon area has resulted in a significant increase in aircraft traffic since the completion of the most recent Master Plan in 2018. In 2020, the city of Redmond selected RS&H to perform a terminal area concept plan which defined the project, and then (in 2022) selected RS&H to execute the design.
As part of the design services, RS&H assisted the city in the selection of a contractor under a CM/GC agreement (CM at Risk). Together, with the selected contractor, RS&H will continue to develop and finalize schematic design drawings by October 2023 and then continue through design development and construction documents by the end of 2024; all within a specified budget. The RS&H Project Controls Group supported the RS&H Aviation team in constructability and drawing reviews, budget reviews, schedule reviews, contracting consultation, GC selection and other miscellaneous tasks where general contracting feedback was beneficial.
